Glew Wins #1 Fastest-Growing Company in Charlotte

In October, we shared that we were named to the Charlotte Business Journal's 2019 Fast 50 list of the fastest-growing companies in the Charlotte region. We're thrilled to announce that Glew was awarded first place as the #1 fastest-growing company in Charlotte for 2019.

Glew, a multichannel business intelligence platform that provides a data pipeline, data warehouse and powerful analytics and reporting in one subscription, topped the list with a growth rate of more than 380% over the past 3 years. We were honored to be recognized alongside many other great Charlotte companies in the ecommerce and technology spaces.

The rankings were announced at the Charlotte Business Journal's Fast 50 awards banquet last week on December 5, while our team was in Islamorada, Florida for our annual company meeting. We were lucky to have friend of the company Adeline Elliott there to accept the honor for us.

Founder Michael Vadini found out the company he and son Carmen founded in 2014 won when his daughter Adeline Elliot — who accepted the award for the company — called him to get his reaction for CBJ.

“We came in first, congratulations!” she said when he picked up his cell phone.

The top spot — with a gaudy 381% growth rate from 2016 through 2018 — was claimed in Glew’s first year on the list.

His reaction? “It’s typical of SAS companies,” he told her, referring to software as a service. “You don’t grow fast initially. It’s like a hockey stick — you work and work and work and work. You don’t see the growth initially and then, boom! You’re there.”

Asked on behalf of Glew about the "fuel that keeps the fire burning," Elliott responded that it was the people. “My father and my brother founded the company and my husband works there," the Charlotte Business Journal quoted her as saying. "The fuel that keeps the fire burning there is the people. It’s all about the team.”

Co-founder and president Carmen Vadini was in agreement. Speaking to the entire company at a celebratory dinner in Islamorada, Florida, where they had just finished a day of strategy and annual planning, Vadini said that Elliott was "spot-on when she said that it was the people" and shared with the team, "We're so grateful for our entire team and all the hard work you've put in to get us to this point."
